His father was an opera singer and at the age of 14 Juan Carlos began formal training in music. At 20 he met Fernando Osorio, another up-and-coming songwriter, and together they created the duo Fernando y Juan Carlos. Together they recorded two highly popular albums for the label Sonográfico and became icons in modern Venezuelan music. <br> <br> In 1997 Juan Carlos signed with Warner-Chappell Music in the USA. Having written some of the most memorable songs of the 90's, including "Yo Que te Amé" and "A Donde Va el Amor", both recorded by RICARDO MONTANER. He also wrote numerous songs for the super-popular boy-band MENUDO. <br> <br> Since then, some notable names who have recorded Perez-Soto songs include: <br> LUIS FONSI, ELVIS CRESPO, PAULINA RUBIO, ALEJANDRA GUZMÁN, MICHAEL STUART, BACHÁ, SORAYA, OLGA TAÑON AND GYPSILAND. His songs have been included in Latin Grammy nominated albums such as ALEJANDRA GUZMAN's "LIPSTICK", SORAYA's self-titled 2003 Latin Grammy winning album and PAULINA RUBIO's "PAU-LATINA". <br> <br> In 2005 Perez Soto signed with Eman Publishing. He wrote and produced the Latin Grammy winning children's album "LINA LUNA" and delivered in excess of 100 songs to Eman. He scored a top 10 hit with "Estoy Perdido" recorded by Luis Fonsi on "Paso a Paso" and secured cuts on platinum records by&nbsp;RICKY MARTIN (MTV UNPLUGGED, Sony BMG Norte), REIK (Secuencia, Sony BMG Norte), LOLA (erase una vez, Emi), MARIANA OCHOA (luna llena, Warner Mexico), EDNITA NAZARIO (Real, Sony BMG), KEVIN CEBALLO (Renacer, J&amp;N), LUIS ENRIQUE (Dentro Y Fuera/Respek Records).<br> <br> 2009 was a successful year for Perez Soto with songs on releases by JORGE WILAMIZAR, REIK, REBELDE (RBD) KARINA, PATY CANTU, NOEL SHAJARIS and YURIDIA, NICOLAS MAYORCA, MANITU, REY RUIZ, and&nbsp;French superstar FLORENT PAGNY (Universal). Juan Carlos penned the single and album title "Amar y Amar" and contributed another song for the album, produced by Julio Reyes.
